How to learn RPG / 400

I heard about the programming of RPG from my teacher. I would like to try. The problem is that how do I do programming? I do not know the OS and IDE according to needs. Any help?

Thank you for your interest in RPG. RPG runs on the IBM i system (aka AS / 400, iSeries, Systemi). This is not a server that you can easily buy on your own. One last thing. RPG / 400 is deprecated. There have been no changes to the RPG / 400 for a long, long time - like a decade. The current version of the RPG is the RPG ILE, often referred to as RPG IV.
