I currently have an office 2010 installed and am trying to help someone who is still using 2007 with the VSTO solution. This turns into a mess, as my copy of visual studio is dragging and dropping project files, updating them to point to the O2010 DLL. If I installed the 2007 office next to 2010, I could open this solution without the upgrade wizard that everyone would be looking for, or my only options that make significant architectural changes to the solution or return to O2007 until my employer makes O2010 a new standard.
You cannot run versions of Outlook side by side ( and here ).
You can still focus on both 2007 and 2010 , but you need to explore the built-in types of interaction .
You do not need to install Office 2007 to create Office 2007 add-ins. I think the problem here is that you are missing the appropriate VSTO components.
Make sure you install the following:
- , .
