GAE + Python vs Webfaction + Python + django - for a relatively new developer

I basically have a webfaction space (suppose for this question that it is free).

I'm trying to learn python by creating some simple web applications in the Google App Engine, using Eclipse + Pydev for development.

So far, I had the basic functionality running in App Engine, although I had some frustration that some libraries weren’t working and something was wrong (this may not be specific to the application).

So, is it worth switching to webfaction now and leaving GAE?
