How to update multi-user object collection in onFlush event buffer?

I have this object:

And it works fine if the Apple collection is empty, but if it has some element, I get a duplication error.

How can I tell UnitOfWork that I just want to recount the pig collection?

UPDATE

A new preFlush event will appear ( https://github.com/doctrine/doctrine2/pull/169 ), and I think such things can be done there. This PR is not in the branch I'm using, but try it!

When updating an object while listening to the onFlush event, all you need to call is computeChangeSet():

// make changes to entity
$entity->field = 'value';

// or assign an existing entity to an assocation

Say, when I change the property of the parent object “underlined” to 1, I also want to associate the new object childwith the parent object in my method onFlush, it will look something like this:

So you see:

  • you need to save your child using $uow->persist() not $em->persist()
  • computeChangeSet for a child object.
  • recomputeSingleEntityChangeSet for parent
