Printing a map with its own layer

Given a large city (an area of about 800 km ^ 2) with some layer above it. This layer may contain multi-color features, such as:

  • the lines
  • points
  • text

The number of functions is about 1000.

Map Resource - Google Maps or Openstreetmap (or maybe something else?).

My goal is to print such a map on 5 × 5 meter paper. Also, this document must be of high resolution - on this paper I want to see buildings with their numbers, streets with inscriptions, etc.

What is the best way to create such a file for printing (image, document, etc.)?

Here are some possible solutions that I have found:

  • I know the OpenLayers API to draw a layer on top of Google Maps or Openstreetmap. But how to convert it to print format?
