I can’t understand how to create drawings for new high-performance handheld computers, such as the Galaxy Nexus, One X, Galaxy S3, etc., which have a resolution of 1280x720 or higher.
I always try to make as few layouts as possible. Only one is preferred, but sometimes the layout is long and long. And make xml smart enough to handle all devices. But this is only possible if the resources intended for unloading must provide all the different permissions and sizes.
Everything was pleasant and smooth until new large phones appeared, and I found that the drawings for them were small. There is no xxhdpi folder from Google yet, so I have to do something wrong.
I know it's forbidden to mention pixels here, but still you need to use Photoshop or another pixel-based application to create drawings. Therefore, you need to know how large these drawings are.
This is what I have done so far:
xhdpi: 640x960
hdpi: 480x640
mdpi: 320x480
ldpi: 240x320
The problem is that when the 1280x720 device receives drawings from the xhdpi folder, everything starts to look bad, the images are too small and there is too much space between them.
What do you base your source files on? xhdpi at 1028x720? This is confused for lower res versions for me.
I have an advertising agency breathing on my neck, wondering why this doesn’t look as perfect as on the iPhone ...
