How to make custom tiles in Windows 8 from an old program?

I have an old version of Visual Studio 6, and when I install it on Windows 8, it has a default tile. The problem is that the smaller tile and the name of the program are too long to fit comfortably, plus the icon changes and looks bad.

Is there a way to create a custom Windows 8 tile that has a different size and icon without actually creating a specific program for Windows 8? I would like to be able to do this with batch files, if possible.
