We have been using SQL Azure for about a year now. For direct access to a server outside of Azure, you need to add a firewall rule to SQL Azure. It's good.
The old portal had a way to do this , and it was easy enough, even if it wasn't a good Silverlight.
However, as far as I can tell, the old Silverlight portal has retired. And the new portal has no way to manage the firewall rules. Did I miss something?
Microsoft still says that you can access the "current portal" here, but clicking on it will lead to a new one: https://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/home/features/portals/
