Android Left Right Channel

Is it possible to reserve the left channel / speaker for our application and leave the program code unchanged?

The idea is to use the left channel to send audio sequential commands, while the right channel can still be used for normal sound output.

I checked the API, specifically http://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/audiofx/Equalizer.html and http://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/AudioManager.html but I didn’t could not find.
