Creating a contact list program

I am encoding a contact list application in eclipse using Java Swing. How can I get a simple table layout that contains only columns and rows? I don't need row or column labels.

Something like that:

first name: john
middle name: franklin
last name: doe

If the names are displayable text fields, etc.

What is the best component to use?

I will also have buttons under the text fields. I currently have JFrameone that works correctly. He pulls out a window in which my menu options are correct. But when I try to do this:

myFrame.setLayout(new GridLayout(6, 2));

I get an error message. I would like to have a grid layout of two columns and 5 rows (maybe 6). I want to have a label in the left column and a text box in the right column. then the two buttons below, centered.
