What is a netbeans folder file file

I see that some of my projects have an Important Files folder in the Projects window of NetBeans. Not all projects have this. This is not a physical folder on disk, but also a list of existing files in the Source Files folder. What is it and how does NetBeans populate this list of files? I am using NetBeans 7.2

Vipin:

"nbproject" is the most important folder. If you delete this folder and after that you start a new project in netbeans, this is like starting your project from scratch.
