Diagnostic monitoring on the azure website

Can you use Azure DiagnosticMonitor on an Azure website (and not a web role)? Or is a computing role needed?

No. You cannot use Windows Azure Diagnostics (DiagnosticsMonitor) on the Azure website. To do this, you will need to use the computing role.
