How to forcibly remove an application from iDevice

I am distributing my beta applications using TestFlight.

The client has an iPhone 4 running iOS5.1 and cannot remove the application from the main screen. The application was installed by OTA through TestFlight.

The application icon has a blank progress bar, and when using the application, the application does not start.

Solutions tried:

  • Press and hold the application icon. When it sways, press x. Click "Delete" in view mode. The application does not delete. The app is still twitching, but now without x.
  • I tried installing the application using USB, using the build and debugging from Xcode - the application starts, but as soon as the application is stopped, the application still can not be deleted.
  • Open the organizer, select the application and click "Delete" - nothing happens.
  • In the iOS settings, General> Usage, find the application and click "Uninstall." Still not deleted.
  • Rebooted device. Did not help.

Note that TestFlight lists the application installed for this user.

Except that a jailbreak device has other ways to force an application to be uninstalled? Has anyone had this problem before?

Here are some suggestions that will surely help you with this problem:

Restart iDevice while holding the sleep and home buttons for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - release the buttons.
