Tridion Installation

I am currently updating the Tridion installation from 5.3 to 2011, starting almost from scratch (except for database migration) of the new virtual servers. I just want to ask for advice on my current server setup ... health check.

All servers are running Windows Server 2008. The pages on our site are all classic ASPs.

Database

SQL Server Cluster Database 5.3 has been migrated using the DatabaseManager. This is pretty standard and works well (in any case, in the test).

Content manager

One server to run Content Manager and Publisher. About 10 people use it at any given time, therefore, not with a particularly heavy load.

Content Data Warehouse

A file system located somewhere on the network. One catalog for live and one for production.

Content Delivery

Two servers (cd1 and cd2), each of which has the following server roles. cd1 writes to the file system content data store for the live website, cd2 writes to the content data store for the intermediate website.

Presentation

Two public web servers (web1 and web2) serving both active and intermediate websites. Web servers read directly from the content data store as their file system. Each web server has a content delivery server installed so that I can use dynamic linking (and other features?).

I have so far configured everything except web servers.

Any thoughts?

I don’t often see that deployment machines are very heavily used, so performance should be good.
