Can't save a PHP file in the .html extension? I heard that .php is not supported by some browsers, I'm not sure. What could be the means to do this?

This is my Hello World program. Which does not work with the .html extension, but it works with. php extension.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
   <head>
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
      <title>Untitled Document</title>
   </head>

   <body>
       <div>
          <?php echo 'Hello World!!' ?>
       </div>
   </body>
</html>

Can I save this file with a .html extension? and is it true that some of the browsers do not support .php files?

There is no such thing as a browser that does not support PHP files. PHP is server-side.

Suhas, When you use PHP in your code, then there must be PHP for it, if you do not use smarty.PHP is a platform-independent external language. It is browser independent. use Smarty if you want to use the .html extension.

PHP is not browser based, it is a server language ... there is no web browser that supports PHP.

Also, if you have PHP in your file, make sure the format is PHP (in the best way).

If you are interested in PHP, this is manual
