What is an RMI TCP receiver, connecting a receiver and signal manager in Visual VM?

I profile a program using Visual VM. My program has been running for some time and finally outputting several graphs using XChart , showing the results. After displaying the diagrams, I noticed in the Visual VM some of the active flows of Accept RMI TCP, Attach Listener, and Signal Dispatcher. What are these topics? I assume that they exist only in Visual VM. Am I right?
