Download the folder in the Tridion Content Manager

Question

When migrating tridion 5.2 to Tridion 2011 SP1 HR1, we noticed that there is no download folder in the Tridion 2011 content management directory.

A Tridion 5.2 downloadable folder used to store all files downloaded as a multimedia component, even before they are stored in Tridion.

Since our cropping tool used this directory, is there a way to make this folder available in Tridion 2011?

The download directory is still in use, but for security reasons it has been moved outside the web application (default, default: C: \ Temp).

You can configure it, although this is a Tridion.UploadDirectory element in System.config.
