We have an application deployed to Windows Azure as a web role, and we use Pingdom to test page load time: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ p>
Windows Azure Application URL: http://www.doctorspring.com . Application load time is usually about 7 seconds. The database is an Azure SQL database, and the role and database are in the same zone.
Example pingdom result: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/CllGggrMz/http://www.doctorspring.com/
Example pingdom result (with gzip): http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/f2TUbR6OX/www.doctorspring.com
Suspecting that Azure might be a problem, we tried somee's free hosting like: http://www.doctorspring.somee.com The application’s download time on Somee is about 3.5 seconds.
Example pingdom result: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/o3gZOjTwH/http://www.doctorspring.somee.com/
This is a huge performance issue for us. Could you help us understand the problem with Azure or suggest a method, how can we overcome it?
Thank you Manish
