Elasticsearch auto-discovery rackspace not working

I am trying to use ElasticSearch for the application that I am creating and I am posting it on Rackspace . However, the function auto-discoverydoes not work. I thought this was because I was auto-discoveryusing broadcast and multicast to look for other nodes with the corresponding cluster name. I found this article that says Rackspace now supports multicasting and broadcasting using the new Cloud Networks feature. Then, following the instructions in the article, I created a network and added this network to both servers on which the nodes were running. Then I tried to restart ElasticSearchon both nodes, but they did not find each other, and each declared himself "master" (here is the output from the logs):
