Convenient use of Android XmlResourceParser?

When I need to access compiled Android XML resources, it seems like I cannot use openRawResource(resId), since it gives me a compiled binary.

The only way to get XML is to use getXml(resId)that returns XmlResourceParser(which implements XmlPullParser).

How can I deserialize complex compiled XML (but not large) from Android resources?

I tried to crack the Simple XML structure :
