User roles are not updated

I am facing a problem in the Sitecore user interface when I edit an existing user to add / remove "User Roles" on the "Member" tab , updating it. However, when I add a New user and assign user roles, it displays correctly. Any idea that causes this problem / Or did someone else come across the same?

This issue is also mentioned by another person here . I added an image for more details!

I tried to search online, but in vain, I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance!Refer to this image for further reference.

EDIT: step by step what I do:

Selecting the userClicking on the edit buttonAdding 'Marketing Designer' User Roles to that particular userIts shows that Marketing Designer is added, I clicked 'OK' after this. No popup confirmation.Clicked on that User again and edit: Marketing Designer is NOT added.

I had a problem in one version of Sitecore with a role selector window that was not large enough, so the buttons Canceland Okwere hidden. I managed to select roles, but then I could not confirm my choice if I did not increase the window size:

You have provided a screenshot for the Change User pop-up window , but not the one that appears if you click Editon this screen so that I don’t know if this is the reason for your question either.
