I have a pretty simple web application (written in Flex) that is very easy to use when it contains data inside it. The steps to getting the data inside it are also quite simple, but not quite obvious to my audience when they first enter my application.
I struggled with how to pass on the data configuration process to my users, without turning them to a separate help. I also do not want to clog my beautiful, elegant interface (which was once praised for its clarity from my current users and works very well with their processes) with wizards or, even worse, annoying an animated clip.
I have a very rich set of tools available for the web interface, but I am looking for inspiration and wondered if anyone had any good web-based, intuitive, unobtrusive, really useful process / use instructions built into the application, and could indicate me to the link so that I can search for myself.
Does anyone have any bright ideas? To enter / upload data, it takes about 5 steps, each of which visits another page of the existing application.
