Problem:
In Visual Studio 2010 Professional, I select "Server Explorer" and right-click on "Data Connections" and select "Add Connection." Then I get this error:
An unexpected error occurred in the .NET Framework Data Provider for Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5. Contact your supplier vendor to resolve this issue.
My surrounding:
- Windows 7 SP1
- Visual Studio 2010 Professional (Trial)
- SQL Server 2008 R2 Express
I tried
- Installing Visual Web Developer Express (gives the same problem)
- Reinstall VS 2010 Professional
- Reinstall Sql Server 2008 R2 Express
- Tools => Import and Export Settings => Reset all settings
- Run: Devenv.exe / ResetSkipPkgs
