Besides the fact that each version of Tortoise svn usually adds new features or changes some ways to do something to improve the process ... I see no problems using the latter. I worked for .coms, small and huge companies, and no one ever bothered about it.
Now, if you are a beginner, and you are trying to stick to what the team has, because if any instructions come to your aid, you might want to stick to what the rest of the team uses.
For me, I am very pleased with the turtle. It’s not so important for me to figure out how to do the same thing as the older version in the newer version, if this functionality has changed.
However, I wonder ... or I assume that the main repository (Subversion) will always be consistent. That using the x version of the svn turtle will not matter in terms of storing metadata, etc.
This is a correct assumption, and if so, where did you find information about it, because I did not see anything that really says it.
