How do I sync Google Earth data with Google Maps?

I have serious problems with Google My Maps (the server will not be saved, polygon attributes change sporadically, etc.). So, now I'm trying to work on Google Earth (saving files when I go) and syncing with My Maps later. However, not only do I have problems with saved files, but I can not find any documentation on synchronizing my local polygons, etc. Using My Maps. Would someone think pointing me in the right direction for this kind of use? Is it possible? If a push comes, I am more than happy to work strictly on Google Maps, but I also need a reliable local rescue paradigm.

When editing My Map on Google Maps, there is an Import link next to the Sharing link.

This import allows you to upload the KML / KMZ file that you saved to Google Earth. (Via "Save As ...")

Import KML dialog box details:

Import KML

Add map data from a KML, KMZ, or GeoRSS file to this map. This may take a few minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection.
Maximum size: 10MB

Also mentioned at the bottom of this support article:

There is also an application that you can get that does this.
