Im at the beginning of developing three different web applications using classic php / mysql technologies. All these applications will have photo galleries (with different calibration requirements).
I think the best choice is to choose an open source solution , rather than developing from scratch. However, although Im is an experimental php programmer, I have no experience with open source cms / photo galleries.
So the questions are :
What are the best options for php open source photo galleries, given that I would certainly mess up their code and expand it (ive seen plogger and zenphoto, not impressed)?
Can I choose an open source photo gallery or go to cms (e.g. wordpress, joomla, typeo3, etc.)?
If anyone has experience using and expanding open source php applications , please share some knowledge.
You can try:
Both are well-known open source PHP Photo Gallery software (GPL license). Both are also under active development and have a large community of users , so you can get help when you need it.
Both have some, some kind of integration with the most famous open source CMS.
