Google IO Twitter Livefeed from a new installation

I just downloaded the Google IO source code: http://code.google.com/p/iosched/ to understand the great interface of this application.

I also wanted to grab the Twitter LiveFeed code, but when compiling the code I just downloaded, I get a crazy interface:

I do not understand what happened because I did not change one line of code!

Does this problem occur on other devices?

Yes, we used some custom Google Real-time Search, which I explicitly removed from open source.
