How to implement flexible trial versions and licensing options in applications

Management asked us to explore licensing options in some existing applications. Until that moment, these applications were simply paid for, and customers could install them at their discretion. We need to introduce a new licensing model to generate more revenue, because our older products work well enough that people have no reason to upgrade. Thus, our new customers will have to pay license fees and / or limit the number of installations that they may have. I have never done this before, so please forgive my ignorance. I need as many instructions as possible (I will be in the right direction!). We need the following ...

  • Time limited demos. When they install the software, it works with full functions for a fixed time. After that, when they try to launch it, he informs them that their expiration date has expired.
  • A licensing option that restricts the launch of an application on a specific machine.
  • A licensing setting that restricts the use of the application to a specific user.
  • A licensing option that restricts the application to a specific number of users or concurrent users.

Number one is pretty easy to understand, but I have no idea how to implement the other three. Any advice is appreciated.
