Is there a way to limit the number of asp.net (in-process) sessions from IIS7? I think essentially an existing tweak that allows this for classic asp. Basically, we want to limit the number of simultaneous sessions on the server even after you redirected other traffic to a page like "we are busy." In previous systems (classic asp), we did this by redirecting the 503 response to the holding page.
I understand that this could potentially be done from asp.net code, but monitoring the start and end of a session is not ideal. Is there an extension for IIS that can limit sessions, or perhaps a flexible one that any Perfmon counter can use?
Many thanks.
