Compiling JIT and DEP

I was thinking of trying my hand in some kind of jit compilataion (just for the sake of training), and it would be nice if it worked on a cross platform, since I run all the main three at home (windows, os x, linux), Having this in mind, I want to know if there is a way to refuse to use the functions of the virtual memory window to allocate memory with execute permissions. It would be nice to use malloc or new and indicate the processor on such a block.

Any tips?

One option is to make sure that the Windows installations that run your program are either configured for DEP AlwaysOff (a bad idea) or DEP OptOut (a good idea).

( , WinXp SP2 + Win2k3 SP1 +), boot.ini, :

/noexecute=OptOut

, ( XP):

Start button
    Control Panel
        System
            Advanced tab
                Performance Settings button
                    Data Execution Prevention tab

, malloc().

, , DEP .

, Windows 2008 :

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx OptOut
0

DEP . , ; JIT, Windows/Linux/MacOSX, DEP . , .
