Radiobuttonlist event does not always fire

I have a radioobuttonlist with a selected event that updates the search function. One of the elements is specified in aspx, and the rest are added data elements. No matter what I set as the default, this element will not fire an event. All other items will trigger an event. In addition, it seems that after selecting a "dead" element, the event does not fire at all.

How can I track a bug and fix it? Here is the current code.
