Magento Home Page Retains redirect to page 404

I have been dealing with this problem for almost a week and doing research around the world, but could not find it.

Problem:

every time I access the home page of my site, this results in a 404 error.

ex. http://www.domain.com ---> redirected to 404

http://www.domain.com/home ---> goes to the cms page, which I set as the home page

I already ran magento cleanup scripts, but it could not solve the problem.

ERROR MESSAGE:
