Android - How to stop and pause the timer

I tried a lot of problems trying to pause and pause the timer, and if I block the orientation to portrait or landscape work, but that’s not quite what I want to do. Of course, the onCreate method is called when you change the orientation, so I cancel my timertask and set it to zero, but after you perform the orientation more than once, it no longer cancels the timertask. Here I looked through the questions of other nations, but no one seemed to answer my question. Here is my code. This is a bit messy at the moment, because I'm trying everything I can to make it work.

you can just add a boolean variable

boolean stopTImer = false ;
