IBM JVM garbage collector information

I am looking for optthruput IBM JVM garbage collector information. I already found this article, but I would like to know more details. For example, I would like to know how the collector balance works between its flows, and whether there are any sequential steps in its operation. Is there a published article where I can find more information?
