IOS 5 and application store

I'm not sure that this was asked, but this is a very important question for our application development company: we are discussing the installation of iOS 5 on our devices, but these devices should develop and test applications for the app store. Will installing iOS 5 disrupt this process? That is, can we still download and test applications on Xcode 4.2 and iOS 5?

I would save iOS 4 on some devices and install iOS 5 on others. You are allowed to test your applications on iOS 5, but this does not necessarily mean that the applications will run on iOS 4.
