How to optimize my site?

I want to make my website faster. I know that I can create CSS sprites and compress my HTML and CSS.

Are there other ways to optimize the speed of my page?

An example is the page: http://www.vinderhimlen.dk/konkurrencer/vind-elektronik

It takes a few seconds to upload sharing buttons, rating stars and Facebook. I would really like to optimize it. I just don't think minimizing HTML and CSS is enough.
