Creating ActionScript 3.0 Applications Without Flash Builder

Question

I have an ActionScript 3.0 application that I made with a trial copy of Adobe Flash Builder 4.5.

The Flash Builder license has now expired.

Is there a way to compile my code without using Flash Builder?

I read somewhere that there is a free compiler for this. How about flex? Is free? Maybe I can use my ActionScript code with Flex
