Is AzMan deprecated as role-based authorization technology for Windows applications?

It seems that for several years no new developments have appeared on AzMan. I wonder if this is still the recommended solution for implementing role-based authorization for a Windows application using AD authentication? The Windows Identity Framework with claims-based authorization seems redundant for fairly simple intranet applications, but it seems that MS is now focused.

The lack of a new development does not always mean a change in direction, in which case I believe that this is simply a matter of product stability. AzMan has not changed that / how it performs its tasks for quite some time .. NET 3.0 Added some functionality in which developers can access AzMan functions with more friendly .NET.
