ReSharper and Rational Team Concert (RTC) - Do they play well together?

I recently joined a small development team that is considering a new version control system. Since this is part of a large organization, we are likely to adopt the Rational Team Concert corporate standard.

I recommended that they choose something much simpler, but I probably won’t go my own way.

I have a serious problem that it will not play well with ReSharper and will force me to change the way I work. I use ReSharper quite heavily to refactor and create and move files for me.

Will I be able to do this using RTC? What is friction?

The team currently uses ClearCase (obviously suction cups for punishment) as a footnote, and my ability to refactor is very difficult. I can’t even create project folders and move files from Visual Studio, not to mention the fact that ReSharper does this ...

ReSharper should not in any way interfere with your version control software.

I have used ClearCase with ReSharper in the past and have not noticed any friction. The only thing I can think of is that you used the ClearCase plugin for Visual Studio, in which case I would advise you to stop.

As long as you use the version control app for checks / checks / commits / etc, you should be good to go.
