What should be the lowest supported resolution for a website?

I am developing a website, but I do not know what should be the lowest "supported" resolution. I know that it will function in all resolutions, but by "support" I mean that all content will be placed on the page without scrolling from side to side. Should I even think about 1024x768 support?

There is no right answer other than “know your audience”. This is not a very easy thing to do at an early stage of development, unless you are targeting a specific audience niche.

1024x768 should be fine. But find out what permission the person who signed the check uses and try to design a liquid layout to avoid side scrolling.
