Testing Applications with Rails

This is rather a general question and some kind of advanced discussion.

How can I test a Rails application?

There are mantras like BDD and TDD, as well as frameworks like RSpec and Cucumber, but how many are enough and what is the best way?

Is Cucumber enough as integration tests? Do you also write additional unit tests?

So what and how is your Rails testing strategy?
