The reference to the bitstransfer powershell object is not set to the object instance

I have a program written in C # that uses bitstransfer powershell to upload and download a file from a computer. it worked fine until today, when download and download stopped working, giving this error. It seems that the error is local to my machine, because other machines are working correctly with bitstransfer and rebooting the machine does not fix the problem. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

I fixed it using the copy command instead.
