HTML Organization Microdata Just On About Us Page or Home

This is more a matter of personal preference than a right / wrong question ...

I have an "about us" page populated with schema.org microdata. We have a name / address / phone / etc. On our main page.

Is there any point, including microdata on the first page? It seems like it would be better if search engines only had 1 page. At the same time, it seems that the first page should be the first.

I would put it on both. Let Google determine the rating. In the worst case scenario, someone looking for your organization will see two Google results with rich snippets.
