This post asked a similar question: Does javascript work on mobile phones?

The problem is that in 2009 a question was asked, what is the current javascript support for mobile devices?

Basically, no matter how much you want. Most mobile phones use some version of WebKit (which works in Chrome), so you are guaranteed better support than IE8 if you are developing for mobile devices.
