Android - how can I add a public calendar subscription?

I would like users to be able to easily subscribe to public calendars in my application.

I searched the api but found nothing regarding adding a subscription to existing public calendars. Is there any code for this? If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

I do not want to add one event, but rather a subscription to an existing calendar.
