PyCrypto does not work on OSX Mavericks

Trying to install and use pycrypto. I do not get any errors during installation, so I can not fix the problems.

I ran a “test” and went for errors, but could not find a fix.

FYI, I have Xcode and Commandline tools installed.

if you run python via macports try

sudo port install py27-crypto

then crypto import should work

If you want to install pycrypto on the latest OSX, then install clang as a C compiler that will use configure. This is done through the CC environment variable.

A way to debug this in virtualenv:

sudo easy_install virtualenv==1.10.1
virtualenv venv
export CC=clang
venv/bin/pip install --no-clean pycrypto
cat venv/build/pycrypto/config.log

Mac. Linux , , Linux .

First, I installed crypto packages (I used it as a last resort sudo).

sudo pip install pycrypto

pip install crypto

Then just rename the lower case name to upper case.

The /path/to/venv/lib/python2.7/site-packagesrename cryptoto crypto.
