Submitting API keys on github

I am working on a C project that uses the WolframAlpha API, and I planned to make it available on github, however the source code contains my API key. Do people usually add their API keys to github or should I remove it?

You must definitely delete your API key and README.mdingithubThe repository, which says that the precondition is to get the API key and place it in the config. This assumes your code is reading the API key from the configuration file. If this is not the case, update your code to do this.
