Display profile property in OptionSet or Picklist attribute

Configuring a CRM Security Provider Module I am having a problem matching a Sitecore profile property with a Microsoft Dynamics OptionSet or Picklist attribute.

The relevant Developer's Guide does not provide any useful hint of this type of display.

I tried

<add type="System.String" name="Salutation" customProviderData="crm|salutation"/>

but obviously typedoes not match the attribute returned from MS CRM, even if the documentation states that the mapping for the Two Options attribute should look like this:
