Perl XML / SVG Parser cannot find

In the following code, I try to parse an SVG file and delete all text nodes in it. However, it does not work (the code is never included in forloop for findnodes). What am I doing wrong? I tried with the XPath and LibXML code version, but none of them worked. They parse and issue the file in order, but findnodes doesn't match anything.

/svg/textSearches for items textdirectly below the root item svg. This is not what you have. It looks like you want textitems anywhere in the document that will be //text. This should work with XML :: XPath.
