Bundle install - requires Ruby version> = 1.9.2?

I just started developing with Ruby on Rails and tried to run the application locally. The application runs in a production environment with Ruby 1.8.7 installed.

I install RVM on my computer with Ruby 1.8.7 as the default. But when I try to start bundle install, I get the following error message:

Gem::InstallError: mime-types requires Ruby version >= 1.9.2.
An error occurred while installing mime-types (2.1), and Bundler cannot continue.
Make sure that `gem install mime-types -v '2.1'` succeeds before bundling.

I tried searching mime-typesin Gemfile, but could not find it; which makes me believe that this is a dependency on another gem.

It is strange that the production server is also configured with Ruby 1.8.7, so I'm not quite sure how the application was originally configured to run, especially when mime-typesRuby version = = 1.9.2 needs to be launched.

I can not find mime-typesin mine Gemfile.lockon the production server and therefore I can not determine which pearls are trying to turn it on.

Does anyone know how I can get this application to work locally so that I can start development?

I do not have much experience with Ruby or Rails.

Thanks in advance.

If you upgraded to OSX 10.9 Mavericks , it may be caused by the remaining executable from the old version of the package previously installed with ruby 1.8, and is still present because the package is not yet installed for ruby 2.0.

Fix it by installing bundler:

sudo gem install bundler

Here is a complete study confirming that this is indeed the cause of the problem:

$ bundle install
Fetching gem metadata from https://rubygems.org/..........
